Sarasota, Florida, is a city for all ages. The population of Sarasota is about 52,000. This number increases dramatically with what we know as the "season" time of year when Northerners escape the cold winters and relax in the sun. The season is from October / November to April.
Low Sarasota is a mid-seventies. The sun shines 360 days a year. Although winter temperatures sometimes divided into more than the low thirties and forties, is a snow shovel here!
Florida relies on tourists for their income. Sarasota sits quietly in the Gulf of Mexico, surrounded by beautiful beaches, the cultural and family activities. Its proximity to other areas of interest, making it ideal for families. Sarasota is located south of Tampa, just west of Orlando and north of Fort Myers and the Everglades, which are just a car trip.
You can see license plates throughout the U.S. and Canada. It is common for Northerners to make the trip each year. Many own homes, condos and even mobile homes. Besides, who can blame them?
For our visitors from January to March season enjoy events like the Snowbirds Siesta Key Beach (yes, remove!) Fine Arts and Fine Arts Show, the Sarasota County Fair, the annual report of the induction ceremony of circus fame and the annual Festival of India, Sarasota. These are just some of the many events that will keep you busy, regardless of the duration of their stay.
But do not despair! There are festivals, events, entertainment, music and department stores throughout the year in Sarasota. And do not think Sarasota is just for seniors! Spring Break also brings a host of young adults to relax on pristine beaches.
You may think that the sidewalks roll in Sarasota by night, immediately after the blue plate special. I could not be more wrong. The small towns of Siesta Key and St. Armand's Circle offers a large outdoor dining and nightlife of the young and young at heart. Music by local musicians fill the air while enjoying the coastal cuisine, cocktails, color, and tropical breezes.
Sarasota is also a dog-friendly. Restaurants and merchants welcome furry friends. Restaurants provide water and store owners to maintain the supply of yummy deals for their four-legged visitors. Unlike our human guests with a "no shoes, no shirt, no service rule does not apply.
So as you can see, there is something for everyone at Sarasota. Come and be surprised.
